Trichy Mattuthavani Central Market opens today Sept 1st 2010

Central Market in Trichy was functioning so far near Trichy Meenakshi Amman Temple. This was creating lot of inconvenience to traffic and other congestion.

To facilitate and improve the city Central Minister Mr.M.K.Azhagiri proposed and inaugurated a central market in Trichy Mattuthavani area last year. This project costs Rs.13 crores.

We shall get a photo of it, as soon as possible.

Now, that is ready and it is functional as of today.

Highway from Samayanallur to Thoppur in 4 months

An infrastructure update in Trichy is -

a 4 way roadways track to be laid out from Samayanallur to Thoppur in Trichy. Currently it is a 2 way track only. This project is aimed to be completed in 4 months and its budget is 20 crores.

Library employees Librarian Selection test in Trichy for Chennai Digital Library

Following the launch of Coimbatore IT Park on August 2, the Information Technology Special Economic Zone at Gangaikondan near here is all set to take off during November as the project, being promoted by ELCOT, will be completed before October-end, Minister for Information Technology Poongothai Aladi Aruna said.

The Minister, after reviewing the progress of the construction of the three-storey building with a plinth area of 50,000 square feet on the 500-acre SEZ about 15 km from here on the Tirunelveli – Trichy National Highway along with Information Technology Secretary P.W.C. Davidar on Thursday told reporters that the SEZ would be ready for inauguration during November as the building as well as incorporation of all infrastructure facilities such as car parking area, centralised air-conditioning, system, sewage treatment plant and food court. in the complex would be completed before Octoberend.

While key players like Syntel (25 acres), Sutherland Global Services (10 acres) and Deccan Services (2 acres) had been allotted land on the sprawling area of 100 acres to be developed in Phase I, small players would be allotted space in the building now under construction at the rate of Rs. 20 per square foot.

“Since we are so keen on encouraging the small players also, we've fixed the lowest rate for Gangaikondan IT SEZ as the next lowest rate is Rs. 23 per square foot for space at the Trichy IT SEZ,” said Dr. Poongothai.

Solar power generation company, A & D Solar Systems, which has planned to generate five MW solar energy from this complex had been allotted 25 acres of land. Dr. Poongothai informed that the IT SEZ at Trichy, where companies like HCL, Honeywell and Sutherland Global Services would have their facilities, would be ready within next eight weeks while the Tiruchi project would also be ready for launch in November. “Tender has been floated for establishing the Hosur IT Park,” she said.

The nature of the jobs is mainly technical because Anna University is a technical university mainly, there are MBA programs in the Anna University as well but their main focus is on Master of Technology, thus the job openings are for technical staff.

The academic programs offered by Anna University include M.Tech in VLSI (very large scale integration electronics).
