TIRUCHI: A DVD containing about 700 compositions of saint-composer Thyagaraja which could be played non-stop for three days, produced by V. Gopalakrishnan, former Executive Director, BHEL, Tiruchi Complex, was released at the 10th aradhana (Shraddhanjali) of Nagaswaram maestro Sheik Chinnamoulana held in the city recently.
The shraddhanjali was organised by Dr. Chinnamoulana Memorial Trust and Rasika Ranjana Sabha.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gopalakrishnan said that it has been possible to bring out the most popular compositions of the saint, thanks to advanced technology. The DVD contains the 690 songs rendered by over 300 popular musicians from Musiri Subramaniam Iyer, Maharajapuram Viswanatha Iyer, Thanjavur Sankara Iyer to Sanjay Subramanian and Unnikrishnan – Brinda-Mukta and Suguna Varadachari to Ranjani-Gayatri and Sheela.
