TIRUCHI: The Bharti Airtel inaugurated Rural Airtel Services Centre (ASC) in Nagamangalam near here on Thursday.
The CEO, Airtel Mobile Services, Rajiv Rajgopal inaugurated the centre at a function held in the village. Nagamangalam Panchayat president Vellaisamy was present on the occasion.
This rural initiative is to penetrate further into remotest villages of Tamil Nadu. This strategy includes a combination of distribution and service under a new model, Airtel Service Centre.
These centres are an important step in Airtel’s objective of expanding its rural spread across India.
This includes identification and training of entrepreneurs in villages who run multi brand retail outlets to facilitate new connection, recharges and accessories.
These centres are empowered to sell, replace, activate, reactivate sim cards, recharge and provide suitable value added services.
One stop shop
These ASCs provided the convenience of a one-stop shop to a new mobile customer in a village. They are empowered to resolve consumer queries by a direct routing to trained agents on behalf of customer solving queries specific to their needs, a press release issued here today said.
Airtel has planned to make 1,000 ASCs operational in the zone by end of the financial year, the release added.
