TIRUCHI: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has been successful in managing more than one satellite in a single location; all the five satellite locations at the longitudes specified for India will be optimally utilised, Mayilsami Annadurai, Project Director, Chandrayaan, ISRO, Bangalore, said on Wednesday.
Dr. Mayilsami cited the co-location of INSAT-4CR with EDUSAT, Kalpana – 1, and INSAT -3C, and said more satellites will be stationed in the current locations of existing ones like GSAT – 2 and INSAT – 3E. With 260 transponders, India has the world’s largest satellite communication system, and the numbers of transponders in space was silently growing, Dr. Mayilsami said, delivering the Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J.
