I recently heard that Trichy IT park near Thirunagar is approved by the government. However, officially I could not find any news about it. But this is definitely a reliable news. If you are launching a business or buying a property in Trichy, it is a very good time!

Financial Question...and Answer

Hi Expert,
I have been reading "your blog(some other blog)" for quite sometime and I have got good amount of tips from your "blog".
Keep writing and I enjoy your writing, as a matter of fact.

Now, my question -
I am 30 years old.
I contribute into 401(k), 529 and Roth IRA every month.
If I decide to retire in a foreign country - say India, where the value of Rupee(Indian currency) is slowly going up compared to US $.

It was Rupees.49 for 1 US$ two years back and now it Rupees.39 for 1 US $.

If the same proceeds, I will end up loosing all the retirement money when I want to retire in a foreign country.

What do you think about this Trent?

thank you
Trichy Machan.

Answer:
If you believe that trend will continue and have a vested interest in
the Rupee, put your money in the Rupee. Invest over there - look for
opportunities to put your money in India. If I were planning on
retiring outside of the United States, I would likely be investing in
that country.

Free Medical Camp in Trichy

Dear all,
I am travelling to India for a very short trip of 2 weeks by July 15th to July 30th.
Amidst my personal activities, I would like to execute a project on behalf of New Trichy Foundation, by this visit as well.

I am wondering what if I will execute the FREE MEDICAL CAMP project in one of the rural localities in the outskirts of Trichy.

Project Summary:
This project is in the conception level right now, and I need to document little bit and prepare a budget for this.
Basically, we will choose a rural locality near Trichy and get approval from Panchayath for a medical camp of 5-6 hours in a day.
We will get approval in the village school or in a shady area in the village.
We will request for 2 to 3 doctors in Trichy to be available in the camp and serve the public.
We will request for some youths and friends to be available for this.
The expenses will be taken care by New Trichy Foundation.

Expenditures, I could think of on the fly -
1. Cost of Medicines to be used at the Medical camp site for the patients - Tablets, Syrups, Disposable Syringes etc.,
2. Additional Help from local youth - refreshments for them
3. Honorarium for 2-3 Doctors
4. There is NO invitation costs, advertising, brochure etc., It is all going to be oral announcements.

The 95% of the money is going to go only the medicines. Rest as mentioned above.
Today, I noticed that New Trichy Foundation bank account has Rs.1475. I will be contributing at the minimum of Rs.1000.
I need to make a proper categorized budget anyway, to determine what could it take and also I need to talk to the doctors about their estimate on the medicines, I am going to talk to them for their approval anyway.

Even if we consider the budget as Rs.10,000, I will need help to do the same, on behalf of New Trichy Foundation - from a monetary front.

You don't need to transfer right now. Please give me a word saying you will be able to contribute an amount to newtrichy@gmail.com.
Even Rs.40(one US dollar) is a good enough charity.

Since the amount is not huge, I am limiting the people I am asking. You are the cream people I think of, when donating to New Trichy Foundation.

Once I do
(i) some more documentation,
(ii) get approvals from Doctors and Panchayaths,
(iii) Preparation of the prorperly categorized budget and
(iv) after checking the feasibility

I shall let you know to transfer the amount you might wish to or the amount you mention in the mail to newtrichy@gmail.com .
Also please let me know what do you think about this project frankly.

If you want to transfer in US, I can give an US based bank account number or in India New Trichy ICICI account number or if you want to send a cheque by post, I will give US or India address.

As a first step, I will wait for your feedback. Take your time for replying - but reply before 9th of July End of the day IST.
Based on your feedback, I shall determine the feasibility. As days go by I shall keep you updated.

Approximate date for camp activity will be July 21st or 22nd or 28th or 29th.

Thank you

Your sincerely
Tamil Selvan
New Trichy Foundation.

Be Hungry for facts and information!

Be Hungry and Stay Hungry - not for Pizza, but for Facts!!!

As food is for stomach, facts and information is for our brain.
Be really hungry for the facts.

Listen to information and news audio channels or televisions or read the informative websites. Do not just waste time in only the movie related informative media.

These days, news comes in various ways. Unfortunately majority of our indian media concentrates on the movies and movie related programmes. This is terrible, in terms of culture and growth of the country.

If you are in United States, try listening to NPR news, BBC or CNN! They are awesome. The advantage with "National Public Radio" is - it comes in any city! Another thing is they don't have any commercial in between the programmes. All things are considered! They are awesome in bringing information to the consumers.

I am sure similar stuff is in india as well - like CNN IBN, NDTV etc., Do not just watch the movie based channels. Let us get out of the closet and explore the world.

Feed the mind with lot of facts, automatically there will be lot of processing inside our brains to produce very productive thoughts.

Be Hungry and Stay Hungry - not for Pizza, but for Facts!!!

Dreaming Trichy into the roads of Singapore!

Dreaming Trichy into the roads of Singapore!

Is it possible? You will see the answer, as you read on.
I remember and you all will remember one of the politicians coined the same statement and became an utter failure in his political career. Well, anything can happen. He can become a CM someday to the state, considering his education and intelligence. That apart, let us get into the topic.

Again, is it possible? Yes!! 200% it is possible! Anything is possible in this world, just be good planning, execution, team work and hard work.

Here is the japanese way of solving problems. We list out the problems, identify various solutions. Analyze on which solution is best and choose the solution. Once the solution is chosen, just execute it carefully. This is definitely not possible by just one person's thoughts and one person's action. It involves lot of people.

Everyone should come together on this. Many good leaders has to be cultivated. Many new leaders has to be born. Need to work together to execute.

Work hard towards our goals and one single main goal - of Making Trichy a New Trichy!

There has to be a gradual and sharp change in everyone of us. We have to become the
change and show the world that we have changed. Once the world understands and realizes that it is a productive community, automatically funds and investments will pour in.

Atleast, if we are not able to produce, we should provide a cozy environment or platform for production. Are we ready to do that?

Good things can be done anytime. It does not need good time to do that. Anytime we can start the transformation!

It is all like a family. Imagine Trichy as a family of four or five people of different natures. Based on all 5 of us, our team work progresses us to achievement and success. based on the goal we set, we move in the direction.

Based on the things we produce, automatically money will pour in and that once reinvested we get better. All this will lead to better life for everyone of us.

When are going to take the first steps!! Come on and join the trichy force - newtrichy.in.

We can work together to make Dream come true for Trichy into the roads of Singapore!

Youngsters - NRMs - Non-Resident Trichyites - please look back!

Youngsters - NRMs - Non-Resident Trichyites - please look back!

I refer to the Trichy based individuals who have gone out of Trichy for the need of work and earning money as Non-Resident Trichyites - NRM. From here, I refer them as NRMs.

We can do a lot, if most of the folks who have gone outside Trichy for various ventures look back and serve the society. This is the real key to our growth to Trichy.

There are lot of wealth built, lot of ideas thought through, lot of energy on hold by many individuals. Manasu irukku, maargam illai. Many people think through about helping the society they have come through. But they don't have the courage and time to execute what they think.

The point I am trying put across is: There is lot of potential, in terms of what we can tap, but just that it is not being done.

Every man and woman should not just be born, just exist and die! There has to be a
meaning to everyone's life! The world we leave should be different than what we came in for the future generations. How many of us think of changing the world, before we
leave!? Atleast be a change, as Mahathma Gandhi said!!

We should look back and serve the soceity. Even 1% of your efforts is a big deal, for the soceity you were brought up in.

To join the force, please check out newtrichy.in and contact us. We can work together to make a change in Trichy.

Let us work together to make Trichy a New Trichy!!

Poor Infrastructure and Customer Service in Trichy

Infrastructure and Customer Service in Trichy!!

Couple of months back, I started to look and shop for an internet connection for my home computer. I heard from many who are already internet subscribers in Trichy that Airtel is good. I enquired about the Airtel connection. I was told that Airtel does not come to the area where my home is! Fine!! Moved on to VSNL linked with Tata Indicom - the most crazy company!!

This company acts based on what it thinks. "VSNL linked with Tata Indicom" does not serve based on what the
customer asks for. This is a perfect example of a government company. Looks like VSNL has tie up with Tata Indicom for the internet services. I ordered for 64 Kbps and I have been subscribed for 64 Kbps through VSNL, after quite sometime. It took like 1 month to get a new connection! What a customer service?!:( The most poor customer service have seen. That's why I said they just do what they think and do not care about customer service.

On top of that, I didn't feel I have enough connection speed. So, I ordered for an
upgrade! here is the real fun!! They said, you will be upgraded to 128 Kbps, from the next business cycle. What a crazy business model!? Will there not be people to take care of these kind of issues. We have called the customer service left and right!

The customer service is centralized in India and I am reaching a customer service with hindi speaking people. There is no customer service in TamilNadu or in Trichy. That apart, I don't have problem with that. There is no seemless support here. The technicians who come to work on the issues are not really VSNL people, they are contract folks. The local cable operators are the technicians. On top of that they are not real professionals. VSNL sucks!!! No matter, what people think about me! It is the truth and I have every right to express my opinion, while no customer service of VSNL listens to my concerns!!

There is no real feel for the company from a customer service perspective. Here, I am a consumer and a small customer who is not being served properly.

I am not sure how the businesses are handling this. I am sure the businesses are having hard time about this. This clearly shows to the businesses and investors - that don't come to Trichy and invest!! Don't you see a real red flag here for the businesses and investors.

This is a very small example about our situation in Infrastructure and Customer Service we provide to the customers!!

Leaders, Education, Youth, Corruption, Our Country!!

Most of the problems starts with Leaders! Leaders in our country are not as great as
olden days Or not as great as many countries in the world.

Ofcourse, we are a democracy and we elect the leaders. Leaders are our representation for administrating and governing the country. This applies to only the time, the leaders are elected in our country. After they step up to power, their attitude changes. Leaders are not an example to the people. Leaders should exemplify themselves to the people. This does not apply to Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam and few others. The President definitely exemplifies with his character.

Most of the leaders in our country are selfish. Leaders are corrupt. There are very few leaders who are not corrupt and who do not do illegal and criminal stuff. In some way or other bribes are being given.

How long people would be fools like today!? When will people change and understand the whole situation around these corrupt leaders!? I am sure everyone understands the situation, but nobody reacts or acts to the situation. This excludes some non-profit organizations.

Even if anybody comes out and gives words against these political leaders, they get silenced after some threatens! Who would come out and give voices?! Who would change the world and make the country a better place to live? Who will tie the bell around the cat's neck!?

Leaders have to be moulded from the day 1. It is all possible through youngsters only! It is all possible through the education! Youngsters should come out with courage, planning, intelligence, honesty and skilled!

This is definitely possible! Not by just waking up and start the task! But this can be achieved by sheer planning and execution to make this country a better place.

A day has to come when we are not frustrated and tortured with various corruption items in our country. Things has to be clean!!! I mean real CLEAN in terms of no-crime!!

How to Improve Trichy Economy?

Here are three ideal steps of improving Trichy Economy:

(i) Accumulation:
For any growing economy or any starting up economy, it is important to acumulate. When I say acumulation, there are two parts to it. Accumulation of physical resources like equipment, structures/infrastructure, machinery etc., is one part. Another part is accumulation of education, training and human resources. Both of these types of accumulation should happen - accumulation of physical resources and human resources.

(ii) Productivity:
Next to accumulation of physical and human resources, all these resources has to work together and achieve as much as possible productivity. Effectiveness and Efficiency of running these resources is very important for the productivity. Based on the output of the productivity, the trichy economy will improve.

(iii) Innovation:
While enough productivity is happenning, lot of innovation has to happen. This innovation will produce lot of revenue and create new markets. In addition new markets will create new businesses.

In addition to the above, if we produce everything we want, and do not import many things from outside, we will be well and good. Reduce Imports and Increase Exports!!

As I have always said - I am not just crazy about Trichy! All I think is: Think Globally and Act Locally!! Whatever I think about, even if it is global, I would like to implement in Trichy first. The success in Trichy can be replicated everywhere in the country and in turn in the whole world.

Tips for Personal Finance - for young people starting their career

Sponsored by OruAcre.com

Since you are starting your reformed career afresh, I would like to share some of my lessons in personal finance, which I have got by reading and by hard experiences. I would like you to benefit from it. For now, you might just read the mail and close it. But, I suggest you visit this mail later in your life to make sure you are doing all the required.

Here are the things, you will have to build, while you keep working in coming years. Also, I have prioritized from top to bottom. You will have to follow one by one in this order.

(i) Emergency Fund: Build an Emergency Fund in your savings account. This amount should be atleast 3 months of your salary. This fund helps in emergency. FYI, i am not able to build this fund completely anytime:-). Ofcourse it is a difficult one:-)

(ii) Life Insurance: Have one insurance, since you have two dependants already. In worst cases, your family should get benefitted. You can choose tax saving schemes also, since you are earning in india. This insurance should solid and that should make sure it meets most of your concerns in your absence, in worst case. So, I think it will come to Rs.1000 to 2000 per month range.

(iii) Mutual Funds: Choose SIPs(Systematic Investment Planning) for mutual funds. You don't need to invest at one time, instead you can invest monthly. These days there is even Micro-SIP. You can invest even Rs.200 per month. Normal SIPs cost minimum of Rs.1000 per month. Since India is booming, investing in market is good. We cannot go for investing in shares individually, since we don't have much knowledge. So, mutual funds is a good choice, since somebody(fund managers) else will manage your accounts. You should think of tax saving schemes in mutual funds also - i think it is called ELSS.

(iv) Real Estate: Owning a House by loan will give you a lot of tax saving. I think this applies to land also. Overall, if you take a house loan, and buy a land it will work out better i think. Land in Trichy OR Apartment in cities(chennai/blore) are very good options. You can do this, wherever you are working. Buying a land in trichy is a good option, whereever you are.

(v) Education Fund for children: Have some post office savings. Not much returns here, but thing is it will be safe and not much risk. NSC/KVP are helpful in terms of Tax.

(vi) Your retirement savings: Better to go with Mutual Funds, in terms of retirement. Start saving Rs.1000 pm for your retirement today. Retirement funds is about TIME. Earlier you start, it is better. If you think retirement is long way, and you don't need to think about it right now - you are wrong. Retirement Nest Eggs has to be built right from this point. If you do that in mutual funds and right funds, after consulting with a investment consultant, you can make a lot in long-term. Mutual Funds are very good in long-term like 20 years etc., Since you are in young age, we can have retirement funds in Mutual Funds and Shares. Nothing wrong in it, but later on in late 40s, you can change it into some bonds and fixed deposits etc.,

Overall, this is what I think you can consider. Always, remember your savings and investment should be DIVERSIFIED, like the variety above. We should have financial goals and milestones set like Life Emergency, Separate Nest Egg for your wealth building measure, Children Education, Children Marriage, Big Vacation, Property buying like Bike, Car etc., and at last comes Your retirement. You should create various financial vehicles like the ones listed above in your lifetime and those should meet your milestones someday.

I hope I have made my points clear. If you have any questions, please let me know - we can talk further about this.

Inspiring candidate from Trichy - IAS!

A candidate from Tamil Nadu who did his degree course through distance education even while working as a clerk in the Railways has made it big in the All India Civil Services Examinations, 2006 .

It was not a specialised coaching material or intensive classes that took him to the 56th position in the national ranking and second in the State. He relied mostly on the district libraries, magazines and newspapers.

Twenty-six-year-old A. Saravanan of Tirunelveli did his B.Com through Trichy Kamaraj University's distance education stream.

The above is an extract from the popular south indian newspaper "The Hindu". Please read on in The Hindu

Thirst for business action

Every individual should have thirst for doing business and becoming an entrepreneur. Becoming an entrepreneur has to be the passion. Becoming an entrepreneur is like planting and growing a tree. That has huge advantages to everyone, in addition to the person who planted it.

At some point of life in every man and woman, he/she should consider doing this. I am sure you guessed the reason I compared entrepreneurship with growing trees.

If a tree grows, there will be profits for the owner of the garden with fruits and other essential elements of profit. At the same time, the tree gives shadow to lots of people who stand under it. At the sametime, the tree is very eco-friendly and pleasant and it makes the environment cycle function well.

Similarly, in entrepreneurship, it gives employment to one or more people. The business produces profits and salaries to various shareholders and employees. Also the business produces benefits to other smaller dependant businesses. It grows the economy and does do some contribution, if not zero.

This thirst is necessary for the soceity and its growth. Please plant trees..sorry entrepreneurship seeds everywhere possible.

As Trees for the environment, Business is for Economy.

thank you

Corrupt Trichy RTO Office: Had to Bribe in 2000

Please note that the below story is about an incident happenned in 2000. I am NOT sure about the current situation in Trichy RTO office. But please read on about the real incident in the past.

Corrupt Trichy RTO Office: Did Bribing in the year 2000
This dates back to year 2000. Right after my college and my company placement I had training in a local driving school and managed to get trained for 30 days - two and four wheeler training.

I appeared on the day of the license. I did pass in my driving tests. While standing in queue for the application, I had to pay Rs.20 for republic day stamp. I crossed 2 tables and had to pay atleast Rs.20 to Rs.30 to the officers desk.

This is somewhere in the middle of year 2000. I am not sure what is the situation now in Trichy RTO office. This happenned in Bye-Pass Road - South Trichy.

I had to pay because everyone paid. If I don't pay the bribe, I cannot get my license. In fact, I saw the officers in their khakhi pants and white shirts, we going past the queue, when the things are happenning.

I remember it clearly, but I cannot do anything. This happenned in every government office in Trichy. Why should I pay for the government services, provided by the government servants, who are getting paid as salary by the government.

This should change! I heard from someone that these days they don't ask for bribe. Good to hear that and I wish it remains the same.

As said by Tamil Film Director Shankar in his movie "Indian" - casted by actor padmashree Kamalhassan - he says Officers abroad get "lanjam"(bribe), for not doing or overriding some rules and laws, But Officers in India are getting money for doing their duty in India.

God Bless Trichy and overall India!

Trichy under the clutches of rowdies and gangsters

Trichy under the clutches of rowdies and gangsters:

The below viewpoint explains about the majority of Trichy and not all of the local politicians and not all the administrative officials are like the way it is explained below. There are definitely some honest people. Please read on ....

Today every officer and a local politician has to listen to rowdies, criminals and gangsters. Every decision is directed by these RCG (Rowdies, Criminals and Gangsters).

An administrative official is not able to do his duty, due to pressure from various entities in Trichy. Even the local politicians have to ask the RCGs, before doing anything good to people.

On one hand, the local politicians are selfish and try to accumulate their wealth. In another hand, the administrative officials need money to do their duty. On top of all these RCGs pressure these functionaries, for every execution of tasks.

In fact RCGs are one of the main cause of these corruption and costing behaviour.

Overall, who is affected?! None other than the Trichy people. Trichy's economy. Trichy's production...

We need leaders to crash all these inefficient elements. We need rules and orders to make things effective. We need punishments for everyone to abide by the rules of the government.

Educational Quality in Trichy - to be improved...

"Ninety per cent of engineering students in the State, despite possessing adequate knowledge, are still not job-ready. The students need to work more to improve their professional and soft skills," Prof. E. Balagurusamy, vice-chancellor, Anna University, said today.

This factor emerged in the first cycle of the State-wide placement programme initiated by the university this year.

Of the 1,975 students from 168 colleges in the Chennai, Coimbatore and Trichy regions, who were screened by the information technology majors, Tata Consultancy Services, Cognizant Technology Solutions and Wipro, only 207 found placement.

Tamil Nadu has over 220 self-financing colleges. Of them only 168 could sent students who were eligible or met the criteria set by the three IT companies for the Statewide recruitment. Finally, the selected students were only from 81 colleges. The other colleges could not get even one of their students recruited in the leading multinationals.

Poor Communication

"From the feedback we get, it is clear that even students having enough knowledge do not possess communication skills and the courage and confidence required to get a job in TCS or Wipro ... Some students could not even initiate a discussion when they sat before the recruiters," Prof. Balagurusamy told newspersons after inaugurating another cycle of recruitment here.

Looks like our students are not trained on the communication, presentation and other skills...while they acquire the knowledge in the college or school...

Problems in Trichy - Part II

Here are the problems I think Trichy has -

Attitude of the people...There is a very narrow thinking and never thinks of productivity. Trying to be lazy. Not doing the work properly. Very conservative...Priorities are trivial and not very productive....Never allow others to progress...

Illiteracy....Not much education...Less awareness among people...

Health issues...Due to lack of awareness and poverty, there are many health issues... have already discussed as a separate topic in previous articles...

Population....Too many births...Not being aware about the population control programmes...

Poverty...There is a huge percentage still under poveryt line..Not even having the basic things like - food, water and shelter!!

Government....Till now there had been never a very good government for making the city productive...

Corrupt Administration...Administration had been corrupt at most of the times and things...Never been a very clean administration. Every point and node is corrupt in the administrative system of the government...Even if the administration is clean, the politicians never leave them alone...

Rowdism, Gangism...Not much law and order is maintained...Many Robberies, rapes, Crimes. Every one tries to take weapons - Aruval(Sickle kind of knife)...Police is corrupt even...So there is not much law and order maintained....

Definitely not environmental friendly...

Brain Drain...All the best human resources move out of the city...to madras/chennai, bangalore, hyderabad, mumbai, America/abroad....

Very few people follow rules...Even take for example traffic rules...very less people follow it...

Amidst all these, many are lazy and not being productive...just laze around and being a load to the earth's gravity...

I am sometimes very angry about the above facts...Sometimes I become very pity to the people...sometimes feeling like doing something for these people, which I will eventually do...
Sometimes I become emotional and even shed tears thinking about the situation...
Anyway, whatever it is - we should do some action to get rid of these problems...We should knock these problems out and become a strong city and stand as an example to the state, country...and in fact to the world...

If this continues in every city, we will never become a developed nation, and always remain a third world country...

in fact, most of these issues are discussed in newtrichy.in and aimed to be solved in a long-term. Check out http://www.newtrichy.in

I will be talking about the potential advantages in Trichy, in my next article...

Problems in Trichy - Part I

Here is a text from wikipedia.org, which states about the present problems in Trichy -

Unlike many other historical cities that have been reduced to small towns, hamlets and ruins in the modern age, Trichy still remains a "city" and a major regional hub of commerce. However, it is a concerning fact that it has failed to achieve the progress it should have and its city ranking has sunk in the past few decades. Not only has it failed to attract new domestic and foreign investments, but it has also failed to capitalize on its inherent strengths.
Though there is no dearth of talent in Trichy, thanks to the Engineering and Science colleges in the city, it has not been able to retain the pool of qualified professionals. During the years following the Information Technology boom that swept across the country, the city saw an exodus of professionals to other urban centers, such as Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai, which offered them better opportunities.

Many blame the state government for limiting industrial development to northern Tamil Nadu, Chennai and its adjacent districts in particular, and cite this as the reason southern Tamil Nadu is industrially underdeveloped. While this claim may not be totally invalid, the main reason Trichy is industrially underdeveloped lies in the fact that there is a definite lack of initiative and poor self-esteem amongst the local populace. The elite and professionals who ought to guide their fellow citizens into the new economy shrug away from their responsibilities, and worse, move to other cities looking for greener pastures and settle down there.

I shall talk about the problems and strengths I think Trichy has....

Trichy filled with Superstitions

Things should change. While there are many things to be changed or transformed in Trichy, here is one thing I would like to mention here in this article. Superstitious believes has to be changed and more rational thoughts has to be in people's heads.

Some of the instances are here -
1. If someone sits on a pillow, they say we will get into debts.
2. If we shake the lock of the door, father and mother would fight or argue on some point it seems.
3. If the baby bites her leg toes, then it is not good for the mother's brother.

these are just samples...Even very educated people are listening to vaasthu - changing their kitchen into reading room and reading room is becoming kitchen...I am not sure why do even educated persons change, due to the society. People are not rational in their thinking. This is probably due to societal pressure.

Still people are checking out ashtami, dasami, navami and checking calendars for doing things. If there is something good to be done, why do you check for good times. All times are good times.

These are some of the things, which block the productivity of the people, the state and the country!

These are definitely some of the reasons, we will remain as a third world country and never become a developed nation!!:-????

What a crazy idea?

Within 5 years timeframe, anybody who does not have a colour television will be given a colour television by the government!! This is what the ruling government respected Chief Minister Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi says to tamil nadu people.

In 5 years, there won't be anybody in tamil nadu without a color television, it seems. In total the budget seems to be 750 crores for this particular project.

What is the use? What a non-productive idea?! Will this make people work more and make the state and country gain more or even the people won't get prosperous? Instead people will become dumb...Will people understand what a flaw-filled policy this is?! Whose money is all these?! Who is approving this? Did People approve this? It's all tax money of the properly tax paying middle-class people.

Please think about it!! and open as many eyes as possible!

Watch this video for Respected Chief Minister's speech on this...

Tamil Nadu Political Joke

I happenned to see this tamil nadu political joke...

Enjoy watching the song between Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi and Dr. J Jayalalitha...
Take it lightly, if you are a party person!

YouTube Tamil Cultural DYNAMIC MARRIAGE

I want you to watch this Tamil Cultural Dynamic marriage! I am not sure if all these crap happenning in tamil nadu or not! Or is it all just staged?! Not sure...

But see it for yourself....I just laughed at it to the core...:-)

Please read on about the article below -

Yes, Democracy is dying in Trichy - Tamil Nadu - South India - in fact all over India. Democracy is like a human body. Human body is corrupted with all kinds of bacterias, viruses and diseases.

Democracy is not anymore in India. We are being brainwashed that there is democracy going on India. But it is not. There are three enemies to democracy. Here are they -

(i) Corruption
(ii) Corruption
(iii) Corruption

Democracy has become with lot of holes, due to corruption. Democracy, as a system is not functioning, because of the fact that executive, judiciary and legislative layers of our government is corrupted.

There had been many tamil movies based on correcting corruption - like Indian, Anniyan, Ramana etc., but the movies are being watched and enjoyed. There is no social change out of it. Director has to be appreciated for the whole effort of trying the social change, but he is going without any good results. However, he gets the commercial benefits. My question is: Why are we liking to watch a movie with such a story of corrupt free world, but not interested to make our country in that fashion.

Eyes of democracy is closed by the monopolistic press and not a brave newspaper or television company so far.

Either the press is completely associated to one political party OR the press is not brave enough to freely post their articles to reach the people of the democratic country.

People are given false and unclear pictures of what is happenning around in the country, by owning the press in their side. There is one media company in Tamil nadu, which owns as many television channels, as many morning newspapers, as many evening newspapers, as many magazines as possible. These guys own the powerful television channel, which hosts programs with highest TRP ratings. People are stuck to these TV channels. People are not thinking for prosperity. People are just before the Televisions and keep on watching. People are becoming stupids and idiots, by watching just movies and serials. There is no scope for exposure and there is no scope for productivity.

In olden days, Zamindars used to have the people in the village, illitrate. Same thing is happening right now. Political parties are even giving Free Televisions for people from their party's money or government's money(all of tax payer's money), so that people can be struck to the television sets and be idle for the rest of their lives. At the sametime, have the people watch their campaign all the time.

You might think I am angry on the government. I would not agree with that. Not really. I am not angry with the government. I am angry with the people. Angry about all of us. Cheating is not a very bad thing. Being cheated is SIN.

We, the people are being sentimental fools, by going behind actors. We consider actors and actresses more than human beings. We should learn to watch movies, as movies and not compare with real life. That will change some of our thinking and in fact our lives.

There are three levels of the government - Executive, Judicial and Legislative. All the three parts of it needs money for functioning as a bribe to everything. Not only the government, every part of our soceity works on bribe and money. Did you know India is one of the most corrupt countries in the world!? Too bad!!

In effect, we should change for the betterment of the soceity. We should change for good. Automatically, the government would change for better. If every man does some change to the soceity, automatically things will change.

Everyone should read to become refined. Everyone should make positive changes towards our life. I suggest everyone take small steps and even very big steps are not needed - For example - do not put trash on public areas, instead just put the trash in trash can!

Let us take positive action and be just not idiots hereafter. Let us give what we can even in small efforts and save Democracy.

Trichy Chitra Festival

Trichy is all set for the Goddess Meenakshi and Sundareswarar Temple's Chithra(Chitra/ Chithirai thiruvizha) festival to be held starting from April 20th.

Some of the history details about Trichy Festival is here -

Several festivals are held throughout the year in Trichy. These festivals attract crowds from far and wide and by far represent some of the grandest celebrations of the Indian subcontinent.

The annual Bhramhotsavam celebrated in the month of Chittirai (Aries) is the most important one and it ties in the legends related to the Trichy temple such as the coronation of Meenakshi, the Divine marriage etc. The Chittirai festival also coincides with the annual festival at Tirumaaliruncholai. The Divine marriage involves a procession of deities from Tirupparamkunram as well, and hence during this time the entire area in and around Trichy is transformed into one of a great celebratory space.

The Chittirai festival begins on the 5th day of the bright half of the month of Chittirai. The key events fall on the 8th, 9th and the 10th days of the festival. The eighth day of the Chittirai festival witnesses the coronation of Meenakshi and procession on silver thrones, while the 9th day is the digvijaya festival. The 10th day (Chitra Purnima) marks the wedding of Meenakshi and Sundareswarar.

Legend has it that Vishnu gave his sister away in marriage to Shiva. In commemoration of this legend, an image of Vishnu is brought in procession from Tirupparamkunram to Trichy. Since Subramanya is the presiding deity of the Tirupparamkunram temple, an image of Subramanya leads the procession. Following the wedding, images of Meenakshi and Sundareswarar are taken out in a grand procession on a palanquin and a silver elephant respectively. (It is to be noted that the Tirukkalyaanam festival is celebrated on Chitra Pournami in all Shiva temples celebrating the annual Bhramhotsavam in the month of Chittirai).

During this time, Kallazhagar from Azhagar Koyil (Tirumaaliruncholai) makes a visit to Vandiyur, near the Vaigai river, on the eastern outskirts of Trichy. It is believed that Kallazhagar realizes that he is too late for his sisters wedding, so refuses to cross the river and returns disappointed to Azhagar koyil.

Historically, the chittirai festival used to be celebrated in Maasi, hence the festival processions use the Maasi streets. The festival apparently was moved to the month of Chittirai in the period of the Naik kings so that the timing would synchronize with that of Azhagar Koyil.

Global Warming

There is a serious issue coming up in our earth, which we all should be aware of and do something from everyone's end. This is a global responsibility and it is predicted that the worst affected would be the poorest, mostly from under-developed and developing countries.

Direct manifestations of a widespread and long-term trend toward warmer global temperatures:

1) Heat waves and periods of unusually warm weather
2) Ocean warming, sea-level rise and coastal flooding
3) Glaciers melting
4) Arctic and Antarctic warming

Events that foreshadow the types of impacts likely to become more frequent and widespread with continued warming:

1) Spreading disease
2) Earlier spring arrival
3) Plant and animal range shifts and population changes
4) Coral reef bleaching
5) Downpours, heavy snowfalls, and flooding
6) Droughts and fires

Trichy Marathon

Trichy Marathon

We are organizing a Run for a Cause event the “Trichy Marathon” on January 13, 2007 at Trichy involving the public of Trichy and all other well-wishers to the cause. The cause for the first Trichy Marathon is Water. We are organizing this event in partnership with the District administration, the corporates, the academic institutions, media, the women’s Self Help Groups etc.

There are many such events being organised in India recently. The Mumbai Marathon has been successful in raising public awareness and resources for development causes. The Siruthuli initiative in Coimbatore organised a Noyyal Yatra with the District administration, Corporates and the public, which was a huge success in educating and involving the public about water and its conservation. It also led to concrete actions by the all the actors involved.

Water is the very basic need for human being. There are places in South India where people walk more than 5 kilometers to get 10 liters of drinking water. The tanks and ponds that fulfilled their needs and acted as lifelines for agriculture and water needs are today in a state of disrepair. Bringing back the community ownership and management of these resources would mitigate the problem to a large extent. DHAN foundation has been working on this concept for over the last fifteen years through its Vayalagam Tankfed agriculture development programme. These water bodies have their relevance in meeting the water requirements in both the rural and urban areas.

This event would provide an opportunity to reflect on the current status of the rich legacy of water that we have inherited and what we need to do ensure that our next generation is also able to benefit from it. Otherwise, Trichy would slowly turn into a desert and it may be too late to save our vanishing tanks and ponds.

We expect 40,000 people to actively participate in this event. There are five sub events - a mini marathon, a celebrity run, a Walk for a cause, roller-skating so that everyone has an opportunity to participate in an event of their choice. A series of exhibitions, competitions and cultural events highlighting this theme would be part of the main event. We are keen that this event besides creating awareness will result in concrete action as well.

We would use the resources raised through this event for the renovation and development of a few water bodies in Trichy, which are crucial for meeting the water needs of Trichy. Except the Chitirai Festival, there is no other event in Trichy in which the public can participate enthusiastically and for a cause.

We believe that we would be able to make the Trichy Marathon into a new and defining event for Trichy, which would bring more and more people together for a common cause with the support from all of you.

Hajeemoosa - a textile shop in Trichy

Here is the description I saw in the Hajeemoosa (Since 1878) website!

When you tell your friend that you had been to Trichy, instinctively he asks you, "Did you visit hajeemoosa?"

Stand for a while in front of hajeemoosa.Looking at a number of people, both Indian and foreign moving in, you wonder if it is not another tourist attraction in the temple city.

You are at once seized by an irresistible temptation to walk in.Once you are in, you are overawed with the experience of visiting the largest departmental store in Trichy

Hajeemoosa is an attractive shopping centre of tourist interest. Carefully and tastefully chosen fabrics and garments galore; hand-woven and machine-woven fabrics in Silk and Cotton,of exotic colours, in artistic designs and prints of traditional pattern.Silks of Banaras and Kancheepuram,Cottons of Coimbatore and Trichy

If you haven't been to Meenakshi Temple and hajeemoosa, You haven't been to Trichy.

Why Bi-Cycles issued by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister?

I recently saw a news that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister issued free bi-cycles to 5 lakh students of tamil nadu state. I am not sure why we do we have to do this for a huge budget of Rs.102 crores. Will the students do not go to school, if they don't have a bi-cycle?

There are so many productive things, which can be done. I am not convinced why do we have to do this, while there are so many better things to do.

If they are giving sathunavu(free food) or free books or notebooks, that is different. I am not convinced with Rs. 102 crore budget free bi-cycle.

This is my personal opinion as a citizen and it is not an opinion of any of my organizations.

Is it good to take loans from Retirement Savings Accounts?

Is it good to take loans from Retirement Savings Accounts?

Well, Good Question!!
The answer is YES and NO.
YES: If you take loan from your own Retirement Savings Account, you pay interest to yourself and it is good for you. It is like challenging yourself with some more commitment, while you achieve what you want now, instead of waiting for your retirement amount, if you are just 40 years old right now.

NO: If you take loan from your own Retirement Savings Account, you are breaking your own retirement money, which is not good from another perspective. Also, if you loose your job, and if you are not able to end up in some other job sooner, it becomes difficult to pay back the whole loan amount.

The above views are personal. please research, while you make a decision. Thank you

Prefer to WALK, when you get a chance - IT IS GOOD FOR HEART

Always opt for walking, whenever you get a chance.
Most of the times, we will be driving the car while we travel/commute OR sitting in our seat while we work. In this way, we are void of any physical activity. This makes us a potential candidate for Heart diseases.

Recently I read articles/books and also in a radio show that if we walk at the least one and half hours every week, we reduce the chance of our heart diseases by 50%. Isn't that exciting??

I have my parking lot 3 minutes walk from my seat and also my office is in 3rd floor. I have opted for walking up the stairs these days, instead of elevators and also walk down from my car to the office seat.

Considering the above walking time: I will be walking 3 minutes + 3 minutes every working day, which is 6 minutes a day. Say I come to office all 5 days in a week. Then I walk 15 minutes for this week and also I will walking up and down the stairs. In addition to that I walk to my restroom and office pantry visits from my seat.

Also, I do exercise for 30 minutes in my apartment complex, twice in a week or so. Apart from this my physical activity of moving around here and there and ofcourse going for shopping etc.,

By the above calculation, I probably meet the more than the criteria of walking more than 1.5 hours a week. I suggest you also do so and opt for any physical activity whenever you get a chance!!

I hope this should keep me fit in terms of my body conditions and Health!!

Please take care of your health, and do calculation like the above!!

Which TEA is good for HEALTH

I am a coffee drinker most of the times. I know how bad caffeine is for my health, but since I like coffee, I keep drinking coffee.

Recently, I happenned to see Green tea in my office pantree and I thought let me try this. Before that I read in the label that there is 100% Natural Anti-Oxidants available in the Green Tea.

Well, I searched in internet for what is anti-oxidants:
Compounds that neutralize oxygen radicals. Some are enzymes like SOD while others are nutrients such as vitamin C, vitamin E, and beta-carotene. High levels of anti-oxidants have been associated with longer life spans.

Compounds that help counteract the damage caused to the body by free radicals. They offer some protection against diseases such as infections and certain cancers. Vitamins C and E, beta-carotene and the minerals selenium and zinc are anti-oxidants.

This excites me - getting longer life and it is very good for health!! It is a very good stuff, and I should take this tip.

Nalla vishayam yedhuvaa irundhaalum, maarithaana aaganum...

Also, I found this article in CNN - check it out...

Being Good in all aspects

Being Good in all aspects:

Lately, I am in confusion whether am I good for anything?
I have been doing many things, but negative thoughts are clinging my head and all over my body, which makes me hate myself.

As I am a Virgo, I try to be perfect in all aspects and that I am not able to reach very easily and that makes me depressing many times.

I try to be a good son to my parents, good brother and brother-in-law to my brother and sisters-in-law respectively.

I try to be a good husband to my wife and a good father to my daughter.
I try to be a good son-in-law to my father-in-law and mother-in-law.

And the list goes on in terms of being a good relative to all of my relatives.

At the same time, I have to be a good employee to my employer and being a good businessman to my business, good employer to my employees.

The list goes on... this is kind of overwhelming, when things are not going right.

I need to have courage to face all the troubles, I face!
I need to achieve what I came here for! Will all my dreams be dreams only for ever? Will I be able to achieve what I came here for! Will I just live a normal existance and just leave the world without achieving anything and bringing something new to the world!!!

I need answers from my inside man...
