Holiday for factories on May 13 for polls
TIRUCHI: It will be a holiday with wages on May 13 for factories and other commercial establishments in the district, when the elections to the Lok Sabha seat will be held. In a press release issued here on Wednesday, the Commissioner of Labour, P.T. Ravindranath said that all factories, shops, commercial and industrial establishments, plantations, beedi units, motor transport undertakings should grant a day’s holiday with wages on the election day (May 13) to their employees, daily wage and casual labourers, as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India and the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
