Meeting on land acquisition for airport work

TIRUCHI: A preliminary consultative meeting with residents to discuss the land acquisition for the expansion of the Tiruchi airport ended abruptly on Saturday.

According to sources, the meeting was convened to hear the views of the residents of Nathamadipatti and Keezhakurichi, situated on the eastern side of the airport, where lands are to be acquired for the project. The meeting ended after the residents walked out demanding specific details about the land acquisition. The meeting convened by Revenue Department officials was also attended by AAI officials and police.
