Srirangam tourism works inspected

TIRUCHI: Tourism Secretary V.Irai Anbu and Commissioner, Tourism Department, M.Rajaram jointly inspected the progress of the tourism development works at Srirangam in the city on Tuesday.

They inspected the works taken up at a cost of Rs.3.61 crore under the Tourism Development Programme at Srirangam, including the concretisation of the four car roads around the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, illumination and landscaping works.

They also inspected the construction of an integrated toilet complex.

Mr.Irai Anbu and Mr.Rajaram also went around the Amma Mandapam Bathing Ghat on the Cauvery river where a sevarthi mandapam has been built at a cost of Rs.18.89 lakh under the project.

They also inspected the landscaping and other development works carried out at the bathing ghat at a cost of Rs.40 lakh.

They instructed the Corporation officials to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities.
