TIRUCHI: An Army recruitment rally for the posts of Soldier Technical will be conducted at Tiruchi from March 4 to 7.

Male candidates from Tiruchi, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Karur, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Tuticorin, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari districts in Tamil Nadu and Karaikal in the Puducherry Union Territory are eligible to attend the recruitment rally to be held at the Army Recruiting Office in City, an official Press release said.

Candidates must be between 17-and-a-half and 23 years of age and should be of a minimum height of 165 centimetres and weight of 50 kg. The minimum chest expansion should be from 77 to 82 cm. A pass in Plus Two with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English will be the minimum educational qualification. Candidates with vocational subjects are not eligible.

Candidates from Tiruchi, Ramanthapuram, Virudhunagar and Karaikal have to appear for the initial physical measurement tests and screening of documents on March 4 and candidates from Pudukottai, Nagapattinam, Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Perambalur and Ariyalur districts should appear for the same on March 5. Candidates from Tuticorin, Thanjavur, Sivagangai, Tiruvarur and Karur districts should appear for the screening and tests on March 6. March 7 will be a reserve day.

Candidates were required to produce the original SSLC and Plus Two marksheets and submit two photo copies of each, attested by a gazetted officer. Nativity and community certificates have to be produced in English and Tamil and they should be affixed with the candidates’ photographs also attested by the concerned authority. In case of sons of servicemen/exservicemen/widow/war widows, candidates should produce relationship certificates. NCC certificates, if any, and 10 latest colour passport size photographs should also be submitted.

A common entrance examination for successful candidates, who clear the screening, would be held on March 29 at the Army Recruiting Office in Coimbatore.

Physical fitness and medical tests for successful candidates will be held at the Army Recruiting Office in Coimbatore as per the dates furnished by the office, the release said.
