Are you a member of 99 club? - Trichy Wisdom
Are you member of CLUB 99?????
Once upon a time, there lived a King
One day, the King came upon a servant who was singing happily while he worked.. This fascinated the King; why was he, the Supreme Ruler of the Land, unhappy and gloomy, while a lowly servant had so much joy. The King asked the servant, 'Why are you so happy?'
The man replied, 'Your Majesty, I am nothing but a servant, but my family and I don't need too much - just a roof over our heads and warm food to fill our tummies.'
The king was not satisfied with that reply.. Later in the day, he sought the advice of his most trusted advisor.
After hearing the King's woes and the servant's' story, the advisor said, 'Your Majesty, I believe that the servant Has not been made part of The 99 Club.'
'The 99 Club? And what exactly is that?' the King inquired.
The advisor replied, 'Your Majesty, to truly know what The 99 Club is, place 99 Gold coins in a bag and leave it at this servant's doorstep.'
When the servant saw the bag, he took it into his house. When he opened the bag, he let out a great shout of joy... So many gold coins!
He began to count them. After several counts, he was at last convinced that there were 99 coins. He wondered, 'What could've happened to that last gold coin? Surely, no one would leave 99 coins!' He looked everywhere he could, but that final coin was elusive. Finally, exhausted he decided that he was going to have to work harder than ever to earn that gold coin and complete his collection.
From that day, the servant's life was changed. He was overworked, horribly grumpy, and castigated his family for not helping him make that 100th gold coin. He stopped singing while he worked.
Witnessing this drastic transformation, the King was puzzled. When he sought his advisor's help, the advisor said, 'Your Majesty, the servant has now officially joined The 99 Club.'
He continued, 'The 99 Club is a name given to those people who have enough To be happy but are never contented, because they're always yearning and Striving for that extra 1 saying to themselves: 'Let me get that one final thing and then I will be happy for life.'
We can be happy, even with very little in our lives, but the minute we're given something bigger and better, we want even more! We lose our sleep, our happiness, we hurt the people around us; all these as a price for our growing needs and desires.

Trichy Tourism Statistics
Tourist flow to the Tamil Nadu State had been increasing by 21 per cent every year.
Tamil Nadu has various tourist attractions, ranging from hill stations to historic monuments. Providing the statistics of the tourist inflow, another interesting information is - 6.5 crores local tourists and 17 lakhs foreigners had visited the State and 62 lakh local tourists and 2.56 lakh foreigners had visited Trichy in 2008. The Tirumalai Naicker Mahal was visited by 3.74 lakh local tourists and 30,000 foreigners last year.
This is a good tourist traffic for last year. However, I think for the potential of Trichy - much more can be achieved!

Trichy Radio for Rural Community - PARD
Trichy based community radio - Vaanoli by The People Association of Rural Development (PARD) was officially inaugurated on 8 September 2009.
It was inaugurated by Trichy district collector Dr G Nammalvar who opened the recording room and Dr Sundara Aavudaiyappan, Programme Executive, All India Radio, Trichy Radio opened the broadcasting room.

Recent Improvements/Updates to Trichy and proposals to improve Trichy - Azhagiri
Speaking at the foundation stone- laying ceremony of a high learning centre at Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET) at Guindy, Chennai - Union Minister Azhagiri said SPIC would be open soon in Tuticorin, near Trichy.
Stating that an advanced tooling and plastics product development centre of CPIET would be started soon in Trichy, Alagiri said steps would be taken to reopen the fertiliser company SPIC within a month.
‘My aim is to make Trichy on a par with Chennai and its suburbs in terms of industrial growth. I will do it at any cost and will ensure that the temple city and its adjoining areas are no inferior to any part of the State. Apart from being the DMK organising secretary for South, I would also like to become the industrial secretary for southern districts,’ he said.
An expert team would soon hold talks with the Trichy district administration on identifying the site for the proposed Rs 48,000-crore aero park, according to the Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers, Mr M.K. Azhagiri.
Stating that the Central Institute of Plastic Engineering Technology would establish its tool design centre near here, he said, “my aim is not only to industrialize Trichy, but all the Southern districts of Tamil Nadu.”
He said Essar Company Ltd would establish a business process outsourcing unit in Trichy, which would generate jobs for about 2,000 people.
Emotionally attached to Trichy
Compared to other cities in Tamil Nadu, Trichy is the only town which has Trichy Makkal to be emotionally attached to the Trichy city itself.
If you ask any one from Trichy - he/she would be proud to be from Trichy and they are always emotionally attached to Trichy.
There is association to the city with themselves for the innocence in people, Trichy non-industrialization and being an emotional village. Any one from Trichy would be interested to see improvements to Trichy and there would be interest to contribute to anything good for Trichy.
Recently, choreographer turned actor Harikumar - "Trichy Sambavam movie" pugazh..said in an interview that he is emotionally attached to Trichy town and he loves the Trichy city for the innocence of people there in Trichy.
