TIRUCHI: In an innovative attempt at improving sanitation and overcoming infrastructure constraints in railway stations, the Tiruchi Railway Division has taken up a pilot project to try out portable toilets.
Two portable toilets, one each for men and women, have been installed at the Srirangam Railway Station. Such toilets were being installed for the first time in the Indian Railways, according to the Divisional Railway Manager, S. Subramhanyam.
