NGO resource centre opened in Trichy
An NGO's resource centre, funded by Japan's Grant Assistance for grassroots projects (GCP) was inaugurated in Trichy yesterday.
Japanese Consul-General in Chennai Yoshiaki Kodaki inaugurated the centre of EKTA, an NGO involved in women and youths' development.
Illiteracy, ignorance of rights, lack of control over resources and lack of skills are hindering women's development. A $ 57,000 grant had been used to build the facility. The centre would offer programmes and services for betterment of women, according to a release here today.
