Devotees in and around Trichy and many international tourist visitors were in Trichy for attending the celestial marriage/wedding in the world famous Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, which was one of the nominees for the World wonders.
1. The roads around Trichy Meenakshi Amman Temple were filled with people/devotees for seeing the marriage.
2. Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar were strolled to Adiveethi where the marriage ceremony happenned.
3. 50,000 people shared the big feast provided by the temple management.
4. Since it was hot, people got free hand fans from the donators and also some got it paid.
5. Lot of donators gave butter milk, water and panakkaram(sugar water).
